Make a recording: Tap the record button or press the center button on your headset. Tap again to pause or resume. If you use built-in microphone to make recordings, they are mono. Adjust the recording level: Move the microphone closer to what you’re recording. In order to get the high-quality recordings, the loudest level should be -3 dB and 0 dB. Preview before saving recordings: Tap the preview button on the left of the Record button. To position the play head, drag the recording level display left or right.

Record over a section: Drag the recording level display to position the record/ply head and then tap the record button.

Trim the excess: Tap the trim button and then drag the read trim handles. Tap the preview button to check your edit. Adjust the trim handles if necessary and then tap Trim when you’re finished.

You can sync voice memos with the iTunes library (Learn: How to Get Music from iPod to iTunes Library) on your computer. So that you can listen them on your computer or sync then with another iPhone or iPod touch (Learn: What is iPod touch).

There are some things you should know. When you deleted a synced voice memo from iTunes, it stays on the device where it was recorded, but is deleted from any other iPhone (Learn: How to Put Music on iPhone) or iPod touch you synced. Sync voice memos with iTunes: Plug your iPhone into your computer, open iTunes on your computer and then click iPhone icon. Click Music, select Sync Music, select Include voice memos and then click Apply.
