The Brief Introduction of Siri

Siri is part of iOS, watchOS, tvOS and macOS operating system of Apple Inc. With a natural language user interface, it can answer user’s questions, make recommendations and perform actions by deliver requests to a set of Web services. It’s your personal assistant in your life. In June 2016, Apple has announced that Siri will be smarter and integrated into macOS Sierra.

How to Use Siri

Get Started

At first, you should make sure that Siri is turned on. Tap Settings > General > Turn on Siri. Using Siri needs an Internet connection through Wi-Fi or cellular data.

Ask Siri a Question

Siri works hands-free to answer your questions as soon as possible. There are some ways to talk with Siri. Firstly, use the Home button to communicate with Siri. Hold down the Home button until Siri asks, “What can I help you with?” and ask your desired questions. Secondly, say “Hey Siri” to ask a question for Siri. If your device supports it, just follow the steps. Tap Settings > General > Siri > Turn on Allow “Hey Siri”. Thirdly, use your headset. Hold down the cent button or call button until you hear a chime. The last one is talking with Siri in your car if it supports CarPlay.

Set a Reminder

Siri uses Location Services to track your location, home, company and other places. So you can ask for help based on location. Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services. Then you can ask Siri for location-related help, such as asking “Remind me to call my dad when I come back home.”

Change Siri’s Voice or Language

If you want to change Siri’s voice, follow the steps to make it easily. Tap Settings > General > Siri > Voice Gender. If you want to change Siri’s language, go to Settings > General > Siri > Language > Choose your preferred language.
